The Small-land stud started in 1969 and was mainly formed by crossing the Downland Welsh pony stallions of my late mother Kathleen Cuff with the thoroughbred mare Gazelle by Blarney Stone. This cross has created the foundation of the stud by producing the stallion Small-Land Mambrino (1975-2003) who has left numerous champions in many spheres. This lineage crossed with the Cusop Bloodlines going back to Bwlch Valentino has produced many successful ponies for us.

Some early successful ponies bred were Small-Land Otto, the leading prize winning 14.2hh show pony of his time, Small-Land Mambrino (his half brother), Small-Land Musket, 3 times 13.2 show pony winner at the Royal International Horse Show, Small-Land Mascot (1979-1997) a supreme champion stallion, sire of champions under saddle at the Royal International Horse Show and in-hand at the Horse of the Year Show - he was exported to Australia at the age of 16 where he has continued to leave top winning stock. |
Congratulations to owner Stephanie Fitt and Small-Land Tapdance on winning the Overall supreme at the Cherif Championships 2012 Ridden by Hannah Horton Sire: Small-Land Maytino |

Some in-hand showing has taken place in recent years after quite a long absence due to our interests in Timothy's working hunter pony and eventing days on mostly home bred ponies. |
